Postdoctoral research scholar, Psychology Department, Arizona State University
The Department of Psychology at Arizona State University invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Scholar positions in the Science of Learning and Educational Technologies (SoLET) Laboratory directed by Danielle McNamara. The postdoctoral research scholars will be working with collaborative teams on federally funded projects to conduct large-scale research on digital learning platforms (e.g., ASU Online) to better understand learning, predict learning outcomes, and enhance learning at scale. Studies may include investigations of factors related to individual differences, student factors, course factors, online behaviors (e.g., log data), active learning, comprehension, and/or writing.
The positions are full-time, fiscal-year (12 months), benefits-eligible appointments with no tenure implications, and no teaching responsibilities. The anticipated start date is flexible and could start as early as November 22, 2022.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in a field of study related to the desired expertise (e.g., data analytics, computer science, cognitive science, learning sciences, human factors, human-computer interaction, instructional systems design) within the past five years.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates with an understanding of advanced statistical methodologies including learning and data analytics, natural language processing, and learning at scale will be prioritized.
Ideal candidates will have expertise in designing, conducting, and analyzing educational research studies including, but not limited to A/B/n experimental design, database management, data mining, learning analytics (e.g., machine learning), using R and/or Python.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated interests aligned with better understanding learning, predicting learning outcomes, educational technologies.

The salary range is $63,000 to $70,000 depending on the number of years and types of previous experience prior to and since obtaining a doctoral degree.
