Zeinab Serhan, Software Engineer

Zeinab has a computer engineering background and an MS in global technology and development from ASU. She combines her work experience in software development and interest in educational technologies to develop and maintain SoLET Lab software and tools.

Apoorv Suresh Kakade, Software Engineer Assistant

Apoorv is pursuing his MS in Computer Science at Arizona State University. His career interests include software engineering, machine learning and distributed systems.

Karan Javali, Computer Programmer Assistant

Karan is a graduate student studying software engineering. He briefly worked as a software developer before joining ASU. He is interested in creating software that can benefit people.

Nishad is a graduate student studying User Experience (Human-Computer Interaction). He has also worked as a front-end developer before joining ASU. He is passionate about creating usable interfaces from 0 to 1.

Natalie Newton, Research Specialist

Natalie graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Fine Art in drawing in May 2019. She is interested in how cognitive psychology research informs educational practices. Her other research interests include cognition as it relates to neurological impairment.

Research Assistants

Kathryn Fleddermann, Research Assistant

Kathryn Fleddermann received her BA from Macalester College in May 2020. She majored in psychology and political science with a concentration in human rights and humanitarianism. Her research interests are primarily in clinical psychology, particularly in treatment of mental illness in incarcerated populations. She hopes to become a forensic psychologist in the future. 

Claire Hsu, Undergraduate Research Assistant

Claire Hsu is a third-year undergraduate at Arizona State University. She is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. Her research experience is related to misconceptions and learning on social media.

Harold Wang, Undergraduate Research Assistant

Harry is a first-year undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego, double-majoring in ‘Math-Computer Science’ and ‘Cognitive Science specialized in Machine Learning and Neural Computation’. His research interests include innovations in education, applications of Natural Language Processing, and video games!

Connor Oloughlin, Undergraduate Research Assistant

Connor Oloughlin is a fourth year undergraduate at Arizona State University who is pursuing a degree in psychology. He plans to use his experience in technology learning and knowledge about misconceptions to pursue a graduate school degree for cognitive science.

Jessica Yurgel is an undergraduate research assistant finishing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Arizona State University. She intends to pursue her PhD in Neurocognitive Science to study consciousness and sleep among her many interests.
