Maria A. Serrano is a PhD candidate in educational psychology at the University of Valencia. Her research interests include individual differences in reading literacy skills, concretely in self-regulation strategies, and how educational technology can enhance strategy use and learning. She is currently working on the tutoring system TuinLEC and collaborating with Danielle McNamara in the development of preliminary studies to test the Spanish version of iSTART (iSTART-E).

Romualdo Ibáñez is an associate professor and researcher at the Department of Linguistics in Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile. His research interests regard the integration of discourse and cognition, including written discourse comprehension and genre analysis. Currently, he is studying how coherence relations vary in academic genres and how that variation affects comprehension.
